This
4-class series was designed to give you an appreciation for
chanoyu/Japanese Way of Tea. You will learn about the history
of chanoyu, the tearoom and utensils used in chanoyu, as well
learn how to be a guest in a tea gathering. During each class,
you will be served a traditional Japanese tea sweet and a bowl
of tea.
|
Students
who completed Part I are encouraged to take Part II of the Introduction
Series. During this 6-class series, you will learn how to make
a simple bowl of tea using tray style.
|
This
7-class series is designed for those who prefer sitting on a
chair (rather than directly on tatami mat). You will learn how
to prepare a simple bowl of tea.
|
IStudents
at this level are registered with the Urasenke Headquarters in
Kyoto, Japan, and begin regular weekly practice. Chanoyu Center
of Chicago teaches the full Urasenke curriculum from beginner
through advanced levels. |
